Templates, agent sign-in and account deletion
Saved templates are here: design a document once, then fill it with data from the API or an AI agent.
New
- Template editor. Lay out a document the way the PDF prints it, with fields where the data goes. Start from a basic page, an invoice, a letter, a shipping label or a certificate, or import Markdown or HTML. Add tables filled from a list or CSV, charts, barcodes, QR codes including a SEPA payment code, math and diagrams. The Layout panel lists the page's zones and every item in them. Label sheets fill one zone per record. See templates.
- Render a template with your data. Send JSON to the templates API or use the MCP tools. The data is used for that request only and is never stored.
- AI agents design templates. Over MCP, an agent can create and change a template, preview its pages and render it. A preview does not count as a document; it uses your plan's hourly preview budget, which the editor's previews share. See MCP.
- Layout problems are named. Text that does not fit its box is named, with its item and page. So is an item that covers text, or one past the page edge. You see them in the editor's Data tab, in the MCP preview and in the render's warnings. The PDF is still made. See the templates API.
- Saved templates are encrypted. We generate the PDF in memory and never store the documents you convert or your PDFs. Templates you save are the exception: they are stored encrypted until you delete them. Their sample records and undo history are stored with them.
- Duplicate. Copy a saved template in the editor's template list or in Account → Templates.
- Templates per plan. Free keeps 3 saved templates, Starter 25, Pro 100 and Scale 1,000. See pricing.
- Sign in from an AI agent. You can now connect an MCP client by signing in with your legivel account. An API key still works. See MCP.
- Delete your account yourself. The account page has a delete button.
- Contact form. The footer links the contact form.
Changed
- API errors. A render that fails for a reason the service cannot classify now answers
500 internal_error, not503 quota_unavailable.503still means that a part of the service is unavailable for a moment: retry later. If your client retries only on503, decide whether to retry on500too. - A document too large to prepare. It now answers
413 payload_too_largewithreason: preparation_limit, not422 render_failed. No document is counted. See limits. - Missing characters. A character no font can draw shows as a placeholder, and copied text keeps the real character. The
glyph_missingwarning lists each such character. Archival and accessible PDFs keep their standards unless no placeholder can be drawn either. See standards.
Fixed
- The editor shows the example PDF until you update the preview, and the site describes the preview as it works.
- The limits on /convert, /pricing and /docs/limits now give the same numbers.
- Long HTML blocks that failed before now convert. Column widths set in a
colgroupnow apply.
