Barcodes and QR codes in Markdown to PDF
A barcode fence turns its payload into a native vector symbol that prints sharp at any size. Invoices, labels and tickets show them in context.
One toggle, 21 symbologies. Every ```barcode fence becomes a native vector barcode: styled QR, EAN/UPC, Code 128, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec and more (toggle: barcode).
An invoice with a code to pay
A cross-border invoice with its lines, tax and totals, a QR code the customer's banking app can pay from, and a bar code for the payment counter.
Styled QR codes
Rounded or dotted modules, gradients, colored corner markers, a logo in the middle and the error-correction level, all as vector art. Toggle: barcode.
Retail & logistics 1D
EAN-13 and EAN-8 with the classic split-digit label, UPC-A, Code 128 for parcels, ITF-14 for cartons with its bearer bars, Code 39 and Codabar.
Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec
Industrial, document and ticketing 2D symbologies, rectangular Data Matrix, and a style block written for QR that keeps working when you switch the type.
GS1-128 & DataBar
GS1 application identifiers: GS1-128 via gs1: true with (AI) syntax or {FNC1} separators, and the DataBar family for fresh food, coupons and small packs.
Micro QR & rMQR
Space-constrained codes: Micro QR for tiny square marks, rectangular Micro QR for label edges, auto-sized, fixed to a version or pinned to a height.
1D labels & check digits
Label positions, custom text, colors and sizes, no label at all, and MSI check-digit modes: the label capability every linear symbology shares.
Validation & fallback
The fence never breaks a document: options the symbology cannot use are ignored with a warning, and a payload the encoder rejects falls back to a code block with the error beneath.
MaxiCode
The parcel-sorting symbology on a hexagonal grid. Modes 2 and 3 carry a postal primary (postcode, country, service), modes 4 to 6 free text.
A shipping label and manifest
An international parcel label: carton code, serial shipping container code, tracking QR, a customs table and the manifest, with the codes a carrier scans along the way.
A boarding pass and an event ticket
A boarding pass with its PDF417 strip and an event ticket with an Aztec code, each laid out as the document a traveler prints or shows at the gate.
The sample documents describe invented organizations in several countries. All names and figures are illustrative.
